Chisholm became the seventh player born in the Bahamas to play in a Major League game and the first since Andre Rodgers in 1967 to play shortstop -- Rodgers was the first Big Leaguer from the Bahamas and took over the shortstop position for the Chicago Cubs when Ernie Banks moved to first base... his grandmother, Patricia Coakley (“Grammy Pat”), played shortstop for the Bahamian national softball team in the 1980’s and didn’t retire until after her 60th birthday. She started a baseball academy for boys in the Bahamas in 1985. She began doing soft-toss with Jazz starting when he was two years old... Participated in the third annual Don’t Blink Home Run Derby in Paradise in his native Bahamas in January 2020. Became MLB's first-ever Bahamian All-Star in 2022 after a 14-homer, 12-steal first half for Miami... went 4-for-6 at the plate with a home run, collecting three RBIs in the Marlins' 9-7 win vs. the Braves on 4/23... made history with Lucius Fox when, for the second time in Major League Baseball history, two Bahamian players competed against each other on the same field on 4/28...

Entered the 2021 season as MLB.com’s No. 66 overall and the Marlins No. 4 prospect...Played in 124 games. Hit .248 with 20 doubles, 18 home runs and 53 RBI. Added 4 triples. Of 18 home runs this season, nine gave the Marlins the lead...Ranked among NL Rookies: 1st in stolen bases (23); 3rd in runs (70); T-3rd in home runs (18); 4th in hits (114) and RBI (52)...Became the second Marlins rookie to have 15 home runs and 15 stolen bases in a season, joining Hanley Ramirez in 2006. The pair are also the only middle infielders in club history to accomplish the feat.

Jasrado Hermis Arrington Chisholm Jr. enters the 2021 season as MLB.com’s No. 66 overall and the Marlins No. 4 prospect... Played in 21 games in 2020 and hit .161 with two home runs and six RBIs... Made his Major League debut on Sept. 1 against Toronto. Came in as a defensive replacement at shortstop. Recorded his first Major League hit on Sept. 6 when he singled off the Rays’ Aaron Loup at Marlins Park. Hit his first big league home run off Atlanta’s Tommy Milone on Sept. 9 at Truist Park... In his only playoff appearance, he went 1x3 with a double in game three of the NL Division Series.
2019
Spent the entire 2019 season in the Double-A Southern League, playing in Jackson as a member of the Diamondbacks and then Jacksonville after being traded to Miami. At the time of the trade, Chisholm was with Jackson having just finished a three game series in Biloxi. Biloxi played host to Jacksonville the next day, allowing Chisholm to stay and play for his new team on Aug. 1...In his first game with the Jumbo Shrimp, he went 3x4 with a home run and a triple...Hit .284 with four doubles, two triples, three home runs, and 10 RBI in 23 games for the Jumbo Shrimp.

Was named D-backs Minor League Player of the Year after he hit .272 AVG/.329 OBP/.513 SLG with 23 doubles, 6 triples, 25 home runs, 70 RBI, 39 walks, 17 stolen bases and 79 runs scored in 112 games between Single-A Kane County and Single-A Adv. Visalia.. Led all D-backs Minor Leaguers with 25 home runs and ranked among the leaders in runs (3rd, 79), triples (T-5th, 6), RBI (7th, 70), slugging pct. (8th, .513) and walks (T-9th, 33)...Was named a Midwest League midseason All-Star.
