Selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 10th round of the 2018 MLB Draft out of Florida Southern College... signed with the Brewers on June 13, 2018... made his Minor League debut with the Helena Brewers on June 17, 2018... did not pitch in 2020 due to the MiLB season getting wiped out by the Covid-19 pandemic... appeared primarily out of the bullpen over his first three seasons, with 93 of his 95 outings coming in relief.

Made 21 appearances for Florida Southern as a junior in 2017, going 1-0 with a 2.56 ERA an ranked third on the team with 53 strikeouts in 31 1/3 innings... majored in biology with a minor in economics...

Went 2-0 for Orleans in the Cape Cod League in 2017... posted a 1.98 ERA with two saves and 25 strikeout in 27 1/3 innings under coach Kelly Nicholson... pitched to the second-lowest WHIP in the CCBL at 0.78, while appearing in the fifth-most games at 16... earned the Charles F. Moore, Jr Award for Outstanding Performance on and off the field.

Prior to Florida Southern, he spent two seasons with the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. for coaches David Jenkins and Phil Betterly... pitched 70 innings and led the conference with 85 strikeouts as a sophomore... in the summer of 2016, he split time between the Valley & Central Florida Leagues compiling 84 Ks in 51 innings.

Attended Greenwich High School in Connecticut and also played two years of American Legion ball in Connecticut under New York Mets scout Mike Abate... was a member of varsity swim team for three seasons... won the Frank Lloyd Wright Architect of the Year Award... son of Jim and Jo Ann Hintzen ... has one sister, Joelle ... father played baseball at Iona College and for Florida State champion Palm Beach State in 1984... uncle, Bill Hintzen, played football at both SUNY-Brockport and Iona ... grandfather, Jerry Girardi, played basketball at Iona... told Florida Southern his favorite team was the Mets.
