Signed with the New York Mets as an undrafted free agent on Dec. 16, 2020 out of Army... commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in May 2019 after graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point... appeared in 21 games with the Evansville Otters of the independent Frontier League in 2019... signed with Evansville in July 2019 and went 4-2 with a 2.70 ERA and two saves in 26 2/3 innings... made his Minor League debut with the St. Lucie Mets on May 5, 2021 when he struck out two over three innings vs. Jupiter... promoted by the Mets to High-A Brooklyn on May 18, 2021... promoted to Double-A Binghamton on Aug. 17, 2022... joined Great Britain's roster for the 2023 World Baseball Classic and made one appearance in the qualifying round, helping the team advance to Pool C of the WBC.
At West Point, Opp went 5-1 with a 3.65 ERA in 44 1/3 innings over 24 appearances with Army in 2019... went 5-2 with a 2.66 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 61 innings across 25 appearances in 2018 when he was named to the 2018 All-Patriot League Second Team and the 2018 Academic All-Patriot League Team... was also named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team in 2017... led the Black Knights to a Patriot League championship his senior year, recording the final two outs of the championship game against Navy (2018)... finished his Army career with a 4.11 ERA and a 15-6 record to go along with 181 strikeouts and nine saves... is one of three Army players from West Point's 2018 team to go on to play in the Minors (Jacob Hurtubise was drafted by the Mariners in 2019 and signed with the Reds in 2020 and Jon Rosoff, who signed with the Tigers in 2018)... Opp considered attending West Point for college and received a nomination to the service academy from Vice President Joe Biden but was unable to apply for admission in time... instead attended William & Mary, where he failed to make the baseball team while juggling classwork and the school's ROTC program... reapplied to West Point and was accepted... earned a spot on Army's baseball roster as a walk-on... moved from England and played two years of baseball at Christ School in Arden, North Carolina, where he was an all-state and all-conference selection as a senior in 2014... Opp was named the conference player of the year and team MVP during senior season at Christ School after he was named to the all-conference team as a junior... 19-1 career record with an ERA below 2.00 at Christ School... also spent time as a member of the British National Team and played for head coach Liam Carroll... Opp was born in Denver, Colorado and moved with his family to London when he was 10.

Transitioned to the bullpen and spent most of the season at High-A Brooklyn, going 1-3 with a 5.23 ERA in 16 appearances out of the Cyclones' pen... struck out 26 in 31 innings... finished the year at Double-A Binghamton, where he struck out three over 6 2/3 innings across four appearances in the Eastern League... joined Great Britain's team for the 2023 World Baseball Classic in the 2022-23 offseason.
