Space Cowboys, MVP Whitcomb wrangle Triple-A National Championship

Astros’ prospect Shay Whitcomb rang in his 26th birthday by tallying three hits and three RBIs while Brice Matthews added his first Triple-A homer to help Sugar Land top Omaha, 13-6, in the 2024 Triple-A National Championship game at Las Vegas Ballpark.

How it works

Each Triple-A season will be split into two halves, with the first half ending on June 23 and the second half commencing on June 25. The regular season will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 22. The first-half winners will serve as the hosts of the pair of best-of-three LCS, which are slated to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The winners of the two LCS will advance to the Triple-A Triple Championship Game, which will be hosted at Las Vegas Ballpark for the third consecutive season.
