Pre-Game Itinerary and Warm Up info:
If you are the first game on a day, you can access the stadium and your batting tunnel 60 minutes before your game time. Please do not arrive more than 60 minutes before your game, if you are the first game. (If you are not the first game that day, obviously you can access the stadium and tunnel earlier than 60 minutes before your game, while the prior game is taking place).
Each team will have a batting tunnel available to them (You must provide your own balls in the batting tunnel). Please see above schedule for clarification on what dugout you are in, and what batting tunnel you can use.
Players can warm up in the outfield, no infield practice before the game.
Please provide a copy of your batting order to the PressBox – so the PA Announcer can introduce the batters
Please Provide ONE PressBox Staff Representative from each team:
We would request that EACH team provide ONE person to assist in the PRESSBOX. We will need one person to be a PA Announcer, and another person to run the line score (Balls, Strikes, Out, Score, etc.). So if each team provides one representative to the PressBox, the game presentation will be more authentic for the kids. Your PressBox representative should please report to the PressBox approx. 45-60 minutes before the start of the game, just to check in and confirm their participation. Thank you for your assistance with this.
Game Notes/Rules:
· Each team will please provide two game balls to the umpire prior to the start of each game. Please have your players, and fans, assist in returning all foul balls to the nearest dugout, to be returned into play. (Additional balls could be necessary – you can provide lightly used balls if the original game balls are depleted during the game).
· BBCOR Bats.
· 7 Inning game, No new Inning can start after 2 hours. To clarify, no new inning can start after the 2 hour mark of the game. If we are at 2:00 mark, or even 2:02 or whatever, we will play another inning. But if we are beyond say 2:02, 2:03, or similar, we will end the game at that point without starting a new inning. This to insure that games will not exceed approx.. 2:15 in total length. Umpires and staff will work to try and play all games to a 7-inning completion. Please play fast, change quickly between innings, etc. to try to complete 7-innings. We will not play extra innings, so games can end in a tie.
· This is a “Showcase” – to give kids the opportunity to play in a great environment. The winner does not “advance”, so please do your best to keep this in mind, keep games competitive, etc. We will not implement a 10-run rule, to allow kids as many innings as time will permit. So please do your best to balance the game as necessary. To further enhance the ability for teams to play as many innings as possible, and give both teams as many at bats as possible – We will also have a max of 6 runs per inning. After 6 runs are scored in an inning – the inning will end, regardless of how many outs have been recorded.
· Batting order can be whatever you like – bat all your kids (1-13 for example), or bat 9, or bat 10 with a DH – whatever you prefer. We suggest batting the entire line-up, to give the maximum number of kids the experience of playing here, but that will be up to the specific coach.
· Free substitution in the field is fine.
· Please provide a copy of your batting order to the PressBox – so the PA Announcer can introduce the batters.
