The Albuquerque Isotopes are encouraging students grades K-12 to celebrate Jackie Robinson. Students who submit a reflection piece answering one of the prompts below will receive four Reserved Level tickets to the Isotopes Jackie Robinson Celebration game on Wednesday, April 15 against the Oklahoma City Comets at 6:35 pm. Answers may be in the form of a written statement or artwork. Bring completed submission to the Isotopes Park Administrative Offices (located on the second floor) by Monday, April 13 at 5 pm. Prompts:
1. Why was Jackie Robinson's impact so important?
2. What inspiration can you draw from Jackie Robinson to break barriers we continue to face today?
3. Do you have a goal/desire to become the “first” to accomplish something in your life? If so, what is it and why?
See below for examples of previous submissions as well as a mural created at the ballpark in 2022 by local artist Noah Barnett.
