P&HCC Patriots will play all 28 home games at American Legion Post 325 Field in Danville
December 13, 2022
Danville’s American Legion Post 325 Field will serve as the Patrick & Henry Community College Patriots’ home ballpark for the 2023 season. The Patriots will play 28 home games from February 5 – April 23 at the home of the Appalachian League’s Danville Otterbots as Martinsville’s Hooker Field undergoes renovations.
P&HCC—a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association—boasted a 32-24 record in 2022, including a Region X Conference record of 21-14. The Patriots were 2021 Region X and South Atlantic District champions, and placed 4th at the JUCO World Series. With a longstanding tradition of excellence in place, the 2023 season promises to be memorable for student athletes and fans alike.
“We could not be more thrilled to be hosting Patrick & Henry Community College Baseball for their 2023 season,” said Otterbots Assistant General Manager, Jacob Lemanowicz. “Working with the P&HCC staff has been an absolute pleasure and I cannot wait to continue strengthening our relationship. We are looking forward to providing P&HCC’s student athletes, community, and fans with true Otterbots hospitality!”
The Otterbots, members of the Appalachian League powered by MLB and USA Baseball, are no strangers to Patriots baseball. Magnus Ellerts, a Patrick & Henry product and member of the 2021 Otterbots, was selected in the 11th round of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Guardians. As a freshman at P&HCC, Ellerts was named an NJCAA Division II First Team All-American after going 10-2 with 141 strikeouts in 82.2 innings pitched. Ellerts then posted a 16.8 K/9 during his tenure with the Otterbots, springboarding him towards his draft selection.
“All of us at P&HCC are extremely grateful for the hospitality of the Danville Otterbots and for their willingness to host our baseball team for the upcoming 2023 season," says Brian Henderson, Assistant VicePresident for Student Engagement and Inclusion and Athletic Director of P&H. "We can’t wait to be back on the field and deliver another fantastic season for our PHamily!”
Tickets for all 2023 Patrick & Henry baseball games will be available at the box office, and a complete schedule can be found here. Otterbots season ticket holders’ admission is included in their season ticket plan. 2023 season tickets and corporate partnership opportunities are now available—call (434) 554-4487 or visit www.danvilleotterbots.com for more information.
