The Wood Ducks hosted the Carolina Mudcats for the final game of their three game series. The Mudcats were three up and three down in the top of the 1st. In the bottom of the 1st the Wood Ducks had a single from Echedry Vargas. The Mudcats started the top of the 2nd with a home run from Reece Walling, 1-0. The Wood Ducks were three up and three down in the bottom of the 2nd.
In the top of the 3rd the Mudcats had a double by Filippo Di Turi but left him on second base. The Wood Ducks started the bottom of the 3rd with a strikeout and then a single from Erik Alvarez. Wady Mendez reaches first base on a fielding error by the Mudcats first baseman. After a mound visit the Mudcats wrap up the inning with a flyout. In the top of the 4th Walling hit a single and with a groundout and a flyout made it to third base but was left there. In the bottom of the 4th Arturo Disla hit a single for the Wood Ducks and got to second base on a balk but was left there.
The top of the 5th started for the Mudcats with a walk for Satchell Norman, who then stole second base. Jose Acosta singles to left field, then the Wood Ducks have a mound visit. With runners on first and third Daniel Guilarte grounds into a forceout from Vargas which allows Norman to score, 2-0. The Mudcats changed pitchers in the bottom of the 5th bringing in Harrison Durow who set the Wood Ducks down in order. The Mudcats get a walk and a single in the top of the 6th but leave them on base with a strikeout. The Wood Ducks started the bottom of the 6th with two outs and then Danyer Cueva hit a home run to center field, 2-1. Disla hit a double and was left on second with a flyout from JoJo Blackmon.
The Wood Ducks changed pitchers in the top of the 7th as Bryan Magdaleno came in for Jose Gonzalez. Jose Acosta reached on a fielding error by Vargas and was then caught stealing second base. Daniel Guilarte walks and is then out with a forceout from Filippo Di Turi’s ground ball. The 8th inning was scoreless from both teams. The Wood Ducks started the bottom of the 9th with a home run to left field from Arturo Disla to tie it up, 2-2.
The Mudcats started the top of the 10th with a flyout from Yophrey put Di Turi on third base. After a mound visit from the Wood Ducks, Walling walked and then Luis Castillo grounded into a forceout that allowed Di Turi to score, 3-2. Then David Garcia doubles to right field bringing home Castillo, 4-2. In the bottom of the 10th Marcos Torres hit a sacrifice fly ball, bringing home Jesus Lopez home, 4-3. Wady Mendez hits a single but is left there by a flyout.
The Mudcats won the game 4-3, with eight hits and two errors. The Wood Ducks had nine hits and one error, and won the series 2-1.
