'Til baseball does them part: Mascots tie knot
July is a beautiful time of year to get married in the Hudson Valley. Low-80s weather with beautiful scenery -- and what better venue than Heritage Financial Field, with an immaculate lawn and a lush forest as a backdrop beyond the outfield walls?

Just ask a couple of mammalian mascots who finally tied the knot during the third inning of the High-A Renegades' (Yankees affiliate) game on Saturday.
At long last, Rascal the Racoon and Rosie the Skunk are officially married after beginning their courtship in June 2023. They got engaged in September and were surrounded on their big day by mascot family friends.

These nuptials are a long time in the making -- and quite personal for Rascal. His parents, Rookie and Rene, got married at the same field in 1997, three years before he was born. This family of four has plenty of other fond memories at the Renegades' stadium, from sitting around the holiday yule log to holding bachelor and bachelorette parties.
Before their ceremonial exchanging of baseballs, Rascal and Rosie exchanged vows. Rascal promised to spray Rosie with air freshener when she smells, while Rosie promises to rescue him from the largest dumpsters -- even when he asks rascally.
There's no word yet on where the newlyweds might honeymoon, but there's no doubt they're stinking cute together.
