Seven Chihuahuas pitchers combined to strike out 21 batters, which set a new team record. Eighteen of the strikeouts came in the first nine innings, which tied the team record for most strikeouts in nine innings. Starter Ryan Bergert struck out a career-high 11 batters and allowed only one run in five innings. He became the first El Paso pitcher with 10 or more strikeouts in a game since Carl Edwards Jr. at Reno on September 4, 2024. Bergert has allowed only two runs in nine total innings this season.
Tyler Wade led off and went 3-for-6 with three singles in his first game with El Paso since being designated for assignment by San Diego. Thursday was the first extra-inning game for both teams.
