The Appalachian League announced the rosters for the second Appy League All-Star Game presented by Visit Alamance. The Appalachian League announced the rosters for the second Appy League All-Star Game presented by Visit Alamance. The rosters will feature 44 of the league's top players from the East and West Divisions, as nominated and voted on by the league's managers. The Visit Alamance All-Star Game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, July 26, at Burlington Athletic Stadium in Burlington, N.C.

The East All-Stars will be led by the Burlington Sock Puppets coaching staff. Anthony Essien will manage, and he'll be joined by hitting coach Rob Selna, bench coach Carol Laube, trainer Angela Talaganis and data coordinator Alexandria Cahill. The Johnson City Doughboys coaching staff will lead the West All-Stars. Kevin Mahoney will manage, and he'll be joined by hitting coach Wayne Riser, pitching coach Ryan Mossman, bench coach Jacqui Reynolds, trainer Michael Bischoff and data coordinator MaryAlice Baldwin.

Both rosters are comprised of 10 pitchers and 12 position players. The Burlington Sock Puppets, Elizabethton River Riders and Kingsport Axmen lead the way with six All-Stars each while the Bluefield Ridge Runners have five selections. The Greeneville Flyboys, Princeton WhistlePigs and Pulaski River Turtles have four each. The Bristol State Liners, Danville Otterbots and Johnson City Doughboys have three All-Stars. 35 of the 44 selections are from Division I schools. The SEC has four selections, the Big 12 has two and the ACC, Big Ten and Pac-12 all have one.

The 2022 Appalachian League All-Star Game presented by Visit Alamance will be streamed live on MLB.com at 7 p.m. EDT and replayed nationally on MLB Network (Date/time TBD). Former Danville Brave and 17-year MLB veteran Bruce Chen will be a part of the broadcast team.

The Visit Alamance All-Star Game festivities will begin with Fan Fest and a Skills Competition on Monday, July 25. Gates to Burlington Athletic Stadium will open at 5:30 p.m.

EAST ALL-STAR STARTERS

Position; Name; Team; School

C: Haydn McGeary, Bluefield, Kentucky
McGeary leads the league in AVG (.403), SLG (.622) and OPS (1.104). The back-to-back Division II National Player of the Year was selected in the 2022 MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs in the 15th round.

1B: Jackson Feltner, Bluefield, Morehead State

Feltner leads the league in hits (53) and home runs (8). Feltner was named the Appy League Player of the Month of June.

MIF: Justin Colon, Burlington, Missouri

Colon is hitting .298 in 36 games. He is tied for the team lead with 39 hits.

MIF: Woody Hadeen, Princeton, UC Irvine

Hadeen is hitting .278 in 22 games. He led UC Irvine with 13 stolen bases this spring.

3B: Ryan Johnson, Pulaski, Pepperdine

Johnson leads the league with 30 RBI. This past spring, he led Pepperdine in doubles (12), home runs (10) and RBI (37).

OF: Kole Myers, Burlington, Troy

Myers is hitting .310 with 16 stolen bases in 35 games. He went 58-for-63 in stolen base attempts at LSU Eunice this spring.

OF: Ryley Preece, Bluefield, Morehead State

Preece is hitting .317 with 21 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 34 games. He had a three home run game April 2 at Tennessee Tech this past spring.

OF: Grant Voytovich, Bluefield, Bucknell

Voytovich's .385 AVG is the second best in the league. He led Bucknell in hits (62) this past spring.

P: Dylan Cumming, Burlington, Liberty

Cumming leads the league in ERA (1.67), complete games (4) and shutouts (3). He has been named the Pitcher of the Week twice.

EAST ALL-STAR RESERVES

C: Jedier Hernandez, Burlington, Seton Hall

Hernandez has thrown out 12 runners trying to steal this summer, the second most in the league.

IF: Jevin Relaford, Danville, Florida Southern

Relaford is 20-for-21 in stolen base attempts this summer, tied for the second most in the league. He is the son of 11-year MLB veteran and Otterbots manager Desi Relaford.

IF: Ryland Zaborowski, Pulaski, Miami (OH)

Zaborowski is hitting .351 with seven home runs and 25 RBI in 23 games. He was named the July 4-10 Player of the Week.

OF: RJ Johnson, Danville, Gulf Coast State College

Johnson is 15-for-16 in stolen base attempts this summer, his four triples are tied for first in the league.

EAST ALL-STAR PITCHERS

Trey Cooper, Burlington, Liberty

Cooper finished June with back-to-back starts of 5.0 innings pitched and 10+ strikeouts. He was named the Pitcher of the Month of June. He did not allow a run in 20.0 innings.

Andrew Dye, Bluefield, Limestone University (SC)

Dye leads the league with a 5-0 record. He has a 2.03 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 31.0 innings pitched.

TJ Fondtain, Pulaski, San Diego State

Fondtain has a 2.51 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 28.2 innings. He is also hitting .324 with 16 RBI.

Peter Gallo, Burlington, Saint Joseph's

Gallo's 47 strikeouts are tied for the most in the league. He has a 2.51 ERA in 12 appearances (one start).

Austin Ledbetter, Princeton, Arkansas

Ledbetter has a 2.53 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 10.2 innings pitched. He had a 2.84 ERA in seven appearances this past spring at Arkansas.

Avery Mabe, Pulaski, Virginia

Mabe is 2-0 with a 5.33 ERA in six appearances (five starts). He had a 3.97 ERA in seven games at Virginia this past spring.

Cole McDaniel, Princeton, Shorter University (GA)

McDaniel is 1-2 with a 3.46 ERA in eight appearances (four starts). He has 24 strikeouts and just five walks in 26.0 innings pitched.

Rece Parker, Princeton, Rogers State (OK)

Parker is tied for the league lead with four saves. He has a 3.21 ERA in 13 appearances.

Tanner Smith, Danville, Presbyterian

Smith is 2-0 with two saves and a 1.93 ERA in 11 appearances. He has 26 strikeouts in 14.0 innings pitched.

WEST ALL-STAR STARTERS

C: Henry Hunter, Kingsport, UAB

Hunter is hitting .279 with two home runs, 20 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 29 games. He was previously named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team. Hunter was also named a Second Team Rawlings Freshman All-American by Perfect Game.

1B: Eric Erato, Bristol, Northern Illinois

Erato leads the West Division with a .355 average and 44 hits in 37 games. He has walked (27) more times than he's struck out (21). Erato led Northern Illinois in hits, RBI, doubles, stolen bases and runs this past spring.

MIF: Brock Daniels, Greeneville, Missouri

Daniels is hitting .303 with two home runs and 27 RBI in 30 games played.

MIF: Harrison Rodgers, Elizabethton, Colorado Mesa

Rodgers is hitting .339 with three home runs, 24 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 30 games. He was named All-RMAC Second Team after hitting .338 in 57 games this past spring.

3B: Jake Perry, Kingsport, Minnesota

Perry is hitting .354 with three home runs and 30 RBI in 33 games. His 30 RBI leads the West Division.

OF: Nate Anderson, Kingsport, Gardner-Webb

Anderson is hitting .314 with 19 RBI in 34 games. He leads the league with 25 stolen bases and is tied for first with 13 doubles. Anderson has six three-hit games. He was named the Player of the Week of June 6-12.

OF: Avery Owusu-Asiedu, Elizabethton, SIU Edwardsville

Owusu-Asiedu is hitting .322 with six home runs and 28 RBI in 29 games. He leads the league with 20 extra-base hits and is tied for first with 13 doubles. Owusu-Asiedu was named the Player of the Week of June 27-July 3.

OF: Ian Riley, Kingsport, Dallas Baptist

Riley is hitting .354 with 26 RBI in 37 games. He leads the league with 41 runs scored and is tied for second with 20 stolen bases.

P: Ryan Murphy, Kingsport, James Madison

Murphy is 2-1 with a 1.85 ERA in seven starts. Murphy leads the league in WHIP (0.95). He is second in ERA (1.85) and batting average against (.204).

WEST ALL-STAR RESERVES

LaLiberte is hitting .365 with two home runs and 13 RBI in 15 games. He hit .303 at Arizona this past spring.

Basler is hitting .298 with one home run and 17 RBI in 29 games played. He leads the league with a .493 OBP.

IF: Roberto Peña, Johnson City, Stetson

Peña is hitting .325 with seven home runs and 19 RBI in 24 games. He leads the West Division in home runs.

OF Issac Williams Jr, Elizabethton, New Orleans

Williams is hitting .302 with 25 RBI in 29 games. On July 4, Williams had four hits, two triples and four RBI.

WEST ALL-STAR PITCHERS

Gavin Bates, Johnson City, Iona

Bates has 20 strikeouts to just four walks in 8.1 innings pitched over nine appearances this spring.

Jacob Bockenstedt, Johnson City, SIU Edwardsville

Bockenstedt is 2-2 with a 3.57 ERA in eight starts. He is tied for the league lead with 47 strikeouts. Bockenstedt has struck out 10 in back-to-back starts.

Brandon Decker, Bristol, Oakland

Decker is 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA and 39 strikeouts in nine appearances (four starts). He led Oakland with 27 appearances and four saves this past spring.

Matthew Cornelius, Kingsport, Pima CC (AZ)

Cornelius is 2-0 with 42 strikeouts and a 3.82 ERA in six starts. In his last start on July 13, he did not allow a hit and struck out 10 in 6.0 innings. Cornelius was named the Pitcher of the Week of June 2-5.

Jackson Holmes, Elizabethton, Saint Louis

Holmes is 4-1 with a 2.81 ERA in eight starts. On June 26, he threw a seven-inning no-hitter. Holmes was named the Pitcher of the Week of June 20-26.

Jack Liberio Jr, Greeneville, RCSJ Cumberland (NJ)

Liberio is 3-0 with a 2.04 ERA and 38 strikeouts in nine appearances (seven starts). He ranks second in innings pitched (39.2) and third in ERA (2.04) in the league. Liberio has four starts of at least 5.0 innings and one earned run or fewer.

Collin Rothermel, Elizabethton, Kansas State

Rothermel is 3-3 with a 3.72 ERA in nine appearances (five starts). He made five appearances at Kansas State this spring.

Riley Taylor, Greeneville, Oklahoma State

Taylor is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in 10 appearances (eight starts). His 42 strikeouts are tied for the fourth most in the league. Taylor was named the Pitcher of the Week of June 13-19.

Fidel Ulloa, Bristol, San Joaquin Delta (CA)

Ulloa has a 4.33 ERA in eight starts. He leads the league with a .202 batting average against.
