HOW IT HAPPENED:

3B Alex De Goti doubled to left field in his first at-bat to lead off the third inning and flip the order for Round Rock. RF Sam Haggerty launched a single to right, scoring De Goti. Haggerty stole second then scored on a 1B Blaine Crim single, granting the Express a 2-0 lead.

With two outs in the fifth, 2B Justin Foscue laced a double to left as the first E-Train batter to face Mud Hens RHP Tyler Owens. Crim then continued his tear with an RBI single making it 3-0.

Toledo began the seventh with a pair of hits as RF Brewer Hicklen singled and C Tomas Nido scored Hicklen with a double to the wall. A 1B David Hensley sacrifice bunt sent Nido to third, then DH Eliezer Alfonzo launched an RBI double that just eluded LF Kellen Strahm, cutting the Toledo deficit to 3-2.

RHP Dane Acker entered in the ninth and retired his first two Toledo batters before Alfonzo reached on a Round Rock throwing error. SS Jack Dunn then singled while Alfonzo scored on another throwing error, sending the contest to a 3-3 tie.

The Express put two on in the ninth with walks from LF Kellen Strahm and 3B Alex De Goti. The two were left stranded, sending Round Rock to its first extra-inning ball game of the year.

Nido started the 11th with a sacrifice bunt that moved Hicklen to third. Hicklen then broke the 3-3 tie, scoring on Hensley’s groundout.

CF Dustin Harris began the bottom half of the 11th on second base and moved to third as SS Alan Trejo grounded out to short. DH Trevor Hauver tied things up at 4-4 with a sacrifice fly to center field.

In the top of the 12th, Alfonzo moved from second to third on a fly ball from Dunn. Alfonzo went on to score on an Express fielding error. Hicklen later sent a single to left field to score two runs, extending the Toledo lead to 7-4, which held final.
