Main Street Baseball Officially Becomes Ownership
BILLINGS, Mont. - Main Street Baseball, LLC, has officially taken the reins of the Billings Mustangs, the rookie-level Pioneer League affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, the team announced Tuesday. Major League Baseball has approved the team's sale, formally bringing the Mustangs into the Main Street Baseball family, led by Dave Heller and Bob Herrfeldt.
The team introduced its new ownership group at a December 5 press conference at Dehler Park.
"Bob Herrfeldt and I are thrilled to officially become stewards of such a great franchise in a great community," said Main Street Baseball President Dave Heller. "We have a ton of new ideas and new promotions planned, and we are eager to work with our talented Mustangs front office team to get started. We cannot wait to begin welcoming people across the region to Dehler Park for unmatched fun, family-friendly, affordable entertainment all summer long."
The Mustangs, the defending Pioneer League Champions, join the Class-A Advanced Carolina League's Wilmington Blue Rocks, California League's High Desert Mavericks and the Class-A Midwest League's Quad Cities River Bandits as teams owned by Main Street Baseball.
"We are extremely happy that Main Street Baseball has received final approval from Major League Baseball and the merger sale is completed," said outgoing team president Woody Hahn. "I am very pleased with the new ownership group and the fact that their other clubs are extremely well managed. They are just what Billings needs to continue to grow the Billings Mustangs while keeping the club 'the Pride of the Pioneer League.'"
Season tickets are on sale now - and make a great Christmas present. The Mustangs' season opener is Thursday, June 18th at Dehler Park.
