TODAY: Winners of three straight, the Mudcats take on the Fayetteville Woodpeckers again today in the finale of a three game series at Segra Stadium in Fayetteville. Carolina has won two straight against the Woodpeckers to clinch the series and put themselves in position for their third sweep of the 2019 season... The Mudcats enter today's game at 8-4 overall this season in game against the Woodpeckers, having won two three game home series (2-1) from 4/15-4/17 and 5/7-5/9, splitting a four game road series (2-2) in Fayetteville (first home games in Segra Stadium history) between 4/18-4/21 and winning the current series. Today's game is also the 13th and final of 13 first half games and 20 overall this season between the two teams.
ICYMI: Payton Henry blasted a three-run home run in the third, Nelson Hernandez worked through five innings while earning his fifth win, Cody Beckman struck out four over two and 1/3 and Rodrigo Benoit picked up his eighth save as the Mudcats won their third straight game 6-4 on Saturday night in Fayetteville. Carolina moved to 4-2 in its current road trip with Saturday's victory and clinched a series win after taking a two games to none lead in the three game series versus Fayetteville. The Mudcats also pulled within 2.5 games of first place Down East with last night's win.
ABOUT THE LAST ONE: The Mudcats improved to 8-2-3 in series played this season after clinching another series victory with last night's 6-4 road win in Fayetteville. Carolina is 2-1 in sweeps this season and 7-0 in three game series played... Payton Henry hit his third, three-run home run of the season last night.
