WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Tonight's game between the Carolina Mudcats and Winston-Salem Dash at BB&T Ballpark was suspended in the second inning due to heavy rain and wet grounds in Winston-Salem. The game will be made up in its entirety as part of a doubleheader on Saturday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Winston-Salem.

Neither team scored in the game before it was suspended, so it will resume tied at 0-0, with a runner at second and with one out in the Carolina half of the second. The game will then be played in its entirety, through the ninth inning, and beyond if necessary, and will later be followed by a shortened seven-inning game approximately :30 minutes following the conclusion of game one.
The Friday night series opener between the Mudcats and Dash was originally delayed by an hour and 24 minutes as heavy rain in Winston-Salem pushed the start time back to 8:24 p.m. The game would then be played into the second inning, but was stopped at 8:44 p.m. after heavy rain once again developed over the stadium.
The Mudcats were batting during their half of the second when the rain arrived once again. Ronnie Gideon started the Carolina second with a double and was on second base with one-out in the inning and with Ryan Aguilar set to bat before rain stopped play.
Gideon's hit was the second of the game for Carolina and came after Tucker Neuhaus tripled with two-outs in the first. Neuhaus was left on base in the opening frame as Dash starter Jimmy Lambert left the inning without allowing a run. Carolina's starter Conor Harber worked through one scoreless inning and struck out one in his start in Friday's game.
Friday's game was scheduled as the first of three between the Mudcats and Dash at BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem. It was also the fourth of Carolina's current six game road trip. The Mudcats are currently 2-1 in the trip, having recently won two of three versus Lynchburg at City Stadium.
The Carolina Mudcats are the proud Carolina League, Class-A Advanced affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. First established in 1991, the two-time Southern League Champion Mudcats are entering their 28th consecutive season of baseball at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C.
