LYNCHBURG, VA - Tonight's road trip and series finale between the Mudcats and Hillcats in Lynchburg was suspended in the top of the sixth inning with Carolina leading 5-0. The game will resume as part of a doubleheader on a yet-to-be-determined date at Five County Stadium in Zebulon.

Monday's suspended game was the finale of a three game series and will now be moved to Five County Stadium as the Mudcats will not return to Lynchburg this season. The game will be played between August 6 and August 8 when the Hillcats travel back to Carolina.
The game was scoreless before the fifth, but Carolina rallied for five runs to take the lead as the rain began to fall in Lynchburg at City Stadium. The five run and three hit sixth began with a lead off double from Nick Roscetti and continued with Joantgel Segovia reaching on a sacrifice bunt that was dropped by third baseman Jorma Rodriguez. The resulting error was the first of three in the inning and four in the game for Lynchburg.
The sixth then continued with a run scoring hit from Devin Hairston and another errantly played sacrifice bunt put down by Dallas Carroll. Starting pitcher Tanner Tully played Carroll's bunt and ended up throwing wildly to first, allowing Carroll to reach and Segovia to score.
Weston Wilson then singled to drive in Hairston, but a fielding error in right on Wilson's hit brought in Carroll as Carolina took a 4-0 lead. Wilson later scored on a two-out RBI single from Ryan Aguilar to lift Carolina to a 5-0 lead. The game was then stopped with Pat McInerney batting and with two outs in the inning.
Tully pitched into the sixth, but left without recording an out. He had pitched through five scoreless frames with just one hit before the leaving in the sixth. In all Tully allowed five runs (three earned) on four hits over five plus innings. He also struck out four and walked one. Reliever Jared Robinson followed Tully and retired two in the sixth and allowed one hit.
Braden Webb started for Carolina and worked through five shutout frames with five strikeouts and one walk. He struck out two in the first, one in the second and two more in the fourth before the game was stopped.
Monday's game was third and final game of Carolina's short road trip. Carolina lost the series opener on Saturday night, but had won Sunday's game while tying the series at a game apiece. Carolina will next play on Tuesday at Five County Stadium as they take on the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in a doubleheader and games one and two of a four game, three day series in Zebulon. Tuesday's doubleheader will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the Five County Stadium gates opening at 4:00 p.m.
Tickets are available by visiting the Five County Stadium front office, by calling (919) 269-CATS (2287) and by visiting www.carolinamudcats.com/tickets. Both games will air on the Mudcats Radio Network, the Big Dawg 98.5 FM and via TuneIn Radio at carolinamudcats.com. They will also air live via streaming video on MiLB.tv
