Notables:

  • LHP Steven Matz threw 35 pitches in 1.2 innings in a rehab appearance. He gave up three hits and five unearned runs while walking one and striking out three.
  • RHP Giovanny Gallegos also made a rehab appearance. He made 25 pitches in 1.1 innings with a hit, two walks and a strikeout.
  • After trailing 5-0 after the top of the second, the Cardinals scored four unanswered to trim the lead to one by the fifth inning.
