Weather Frequently Asked Questions

In the event of inclement weather, the grounds crew will cover the infield to protect the key areas of the field from the elements. We make every effort to play games as they are scheduled, and most games are played as such. In the event that weather prevents a game from being played as scheduled, updated information will be communicated on the front page of seawolves.com and via social media outlets Facebook and X. These sources are updated within minutes of any official change.

When do you decide if a game will be postponed?

Each situation is unique, so there is no established time frame. We attempt to play every game as scheduled as long as the field has the chance to be deemed playable.

Is it going to rain?

This is the most common question we receive. Mother Nature is better equipped to answer that question, but we can share that we monitor weather on each and every game day. We also consult with the meteorologists at Erie News Now to determine the timing and intensity of weather that may impact our games. While we can't predict the weather, we monitor it frequently.

What happens to my ticket if a game is postponed?

If a game is postponed, the SeaWolves will announce a make-up date at the time of the postponement. If an official game (as defined by Minor League Baseball rules) has not been played, your game ticket can be exchanged for a ticket of equal or lesser value for any other SeaWolves home game during the same season based on availability. You are not required to exchange your ticket for the make-up date, but you are welcome to exchange for that date if that is your preference.

What happens to my Suite/Party Deck food order if it rains?

If you choose to cancel your food order for any reason, the Director of Food & Beverage must receive notification at least four (4) hours prior to game time. If you cancel your food order, you may still order from the suite menu when you arrive at the game.

If a game is postponed prior to gates opening, the suite or party deck holder WILL NOT be held liable for food orders, and you will be contacted by your SeaWolves ticket representative to reschedule your suite date. If a game is delayed after gates open, food will be delivered to your suite as planned unless the order is cancelled four hours prior to game time. If a game is postponed after gates have opened, you will have approximately 90 minutes after the game has been called to enjoy your food.
