GREENEVILLE REDS ANNOUNCE 2019 COACHING STAFF

GREENEVILLE - In conjunction with the Cincinnati Reds, the Greeneville Reds have announced their coaching staff for the 2019 season. The Greeneville Reds will be welcoming back two returning coaches including Manager, Gookie Dawkins and Bench Coach, Reggie Williams.
The coaches making their debut with Greeneville include Derrin Ebert who will join the club as the Pitching Coach, Luis Terrero who will assume the role of Hitting Coach, Josh Hobson who will serve as the team's Athletic Trainer, and Alex Puskarich who joins Greeneville as the Strength and Conditioning coach.
Gookie Dawkins will be entering his second season as manager of the Reds in 2019. Dawkins has previously served as a Hitting Coach for Double-A Pensacola, Advanced-A Daytona, and the Arizona League Reds. Dawkins appeared as a player in four Major League seasons, including three with the Reds. Dawkins played in the Minor Leagues for 15 seasons throughout his career.
"As my second year managing, I'm looking forward to working in the Appalachian League again," Stated Dawkins. "I feel like I have a better understanding of things that need to be done. I'm very excited about our staff and players coming in, and it should be a great season for us in Greeneville."
Derrin Ebert enters the 2019 season as his first season with the Greeneville Reds as the Pitching Coach. Ebert has been a part of the Reds organization for several years as a coach. He had an 11-season playing career, while appearing for the Atlanta Braves in the Major Leagues in 1999. Ebert continued his playing career in the Minor Leagues until 2005.
2019 also marks the first season with the Greeneville Reds for Hitting Coach Luis Terrero. Terrero comes from a long and successful playing career. His professional career ranged from 1999 through 2016. Terrero appeared in the Major Leagues in 5 seasons as an outfielder.
Returning as Bench Coach for the second season for the Greeneville Reds is Reggie Williams. Williams was previously with the Milwaukee Brewers in various roles. Williams played in the Major Leagues from 1985-1988. He appeared in the Minor Leagues from 1982 through 1990 throughout his playing career.
Josh Hobson will serve as the team's Athletic Trainer in 2019. During the 2018 season, Hobson was the Athletic Trainer with the Billings Mustangs. Josh graduated in 2015 from the University of Evansville with a bachelor's degree in athletic training and in 2016 from the University of Akron with a master's degree in sports administration.
2019 will mark the first season in Greeneville for Strength and Conditioning Coach Alex Puskarich. Puskarich enters his third season as a Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Cincinnati Reds. He spent 2017 with the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League, a Reds Rookie Level affiliate, and 2018 with the Class A-Advanced Daytona Tortugas in the Florida State League for 2018.
