MLB’s Home Run Derby X is coming to Hartford in August and we’re looking for players who are ready to compete with the best!

Home Run Derby X is a new version of the baseball you know and love, featuring co-ed teams, long home runs and exciting catches in a speedy three-inning game. Think you’ve got what it takes to play alongside MLB Legends? Apply below.

How it Works:

1. Share some information about yourself here.
2. We’ll review all applications and select the best of the best to advance to in-person tryouts at Hartford’s Dunkin’ Park on August 10.
3. Following those tryouts, MLB staff and the MLB legends themselves will draft the top 8 men and women to play under the lights in front of a home crowd at Dunkin’ Park the following night.
4. Four teams, each led by an MLB legend, will compete to win a cash prize and the pride of taking home a championship.

Terms and Conditions

CAMPAIGN PERIOD: Applications will be accepted online starting on June 12, 2023 and must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. ET on July 15, 2023. Limit one (1) application per person.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of the US, who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of submission. NOTE: No travel or lodging will be provided for this event.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: By applying, each applicant (a) accepts and agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, including all application requirements; and (b) gives his/her express permission to be contacted by MLB, PDL and/or their representatives for administration and/or selection purposes. MLB/PDL’s consideration of an application is not any admission by MLB or PDL of the novelty, propriety or originality of the application and shall not deprive any MLB Entity or PDL Entity of rights to similar or identical concepts developed within, or used by or submitted to, any MLB Entity or PDL Entity, now or hereafter existing in the public domain. The decisions of MLB and/or PDL are final and binding on all matters relating to the application process. MLB Entities and PDL Entities are not responsible for stolen, late, incomplete, illegible, inaccurate, misdirected, lost, misrouted, scrambled, damaged, delayed, undelivered, mutilated, postage-due, or garbled applications, transmissions, email, or mail; lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, cable, satellite, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), wireless network, website, or other connections; availability, accessibility, miscommunications, or failures of computer, satellite, telephone, cable, or wireless transmissions or lines; computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures, or difficulties; wireless service congestion; failures or malfunctions of phones, phone lines, telephone systems, wireless towers, or cellular tower equipment; any error, omission, interruption, defect, or delay in wireless or other transmission, processing, or communication; printing, typographical, or other errors appearing within these Terms and Conditions, in any application-related advertisements, or other materials; cancellation or postponement of any tryout/game; or any other errors, problems, or difficulties of any kind, whether human, mechanical, electronic, or other, relating to the application process of Home Run Derby X, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with administration of the Home Run Derby X, processing of applications, announcement of the selections applicants, or any Home Run Derby X-related materials. MLB Entities and PDL Entities are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users (e.g., hacking) or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Home Run Derby X application process. MLB Entities and PDL Entities are not responsible for injury or damage to entrant’s or to any other person’s computer and/or wireless device related to or resulting from participating in this application process or downloading materials from or use of the Home Run Derby X application website. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the application process or website; attempt to undermine the legitimate operation of the application process by cheating, deception, or other unfair playing practices; intend to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other applicant or any representative of MLB or PDL; or who are in violation of these Terms and Conditions, as solely determined by MLB and/or PDL, will be disqualified and any/all associated application(s) will be void. MLB and PDL shall have the sole right to disqualify any applicant for violation of these Terms and Conditions or any applicable laws relating to the application process and to resolve all disputes in its sole discretion.

MLB and PDL reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to modify, suspend, extend, or cancel the application process or Home Run Derby X event (or any portion thereof) in the event MLB Entities or PDL Entities are prevented from executing the application process and event as contemplated herein by any event beyond their control, including but not limited to: fire; flood; earthquake; explosion; public health epidemic or crisis; labor dispute or strike; act of God or public enemy; network or equipment failure; riot or civil disturbance; terrorist threat or activity; war (declared or undeclared); court order; or federal, state, or local government law, order, or regulation. MLB and PDL also reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to modify, suspend, extend, or cancel the application process (or any portion thereof) should virus, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, or other causes or events corrupt administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper operation of the application process. MLB and PDL also reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to modify these Terms and Conditions if/as needed during the application process.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THE HOME RUN DERBY X APPLICATION PROCESS OR UNDERMINE THE CONTENT OR LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS APPLICATION PROCESS MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND, SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, MLB ENTITIES AND/OR PDL ENTITIES WILL DISQUALIFY ANY ENTRANT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT AND MLB, PDL, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) AND OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Participation in the any tryout/event/experience is subject to participant’s (and potential guest(s), if applicable) consent to and compliance with all health and safety policies of the MLB Entities and PDL Entities. Participant may also be required to sign a release and waiver to participate in the tryout/event/experience. “MLB Entities” means the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball (“BOC”), its Bureaus, Committees, Subcommittees and Councils, MLB Advanced Media, L.P. (“MLB”), Major League Baseball Properties, Inc., The MLB Network, LLC, the Major League Baseball Clubs (“Clubs”), each of their parent, subsidiary, affiliated, and related entities, any entity which, now or in the future, controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with the Clubs or the BOC, and the owners, general and limited partners, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, and agents of the foregoing entities. “PDL Entities” means MLB Professional Development Leagues, LLC (“PDL”), each PDL Club, each of their subsidiaries or affiliated entities, any entity which now or in the future controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with PDL and the PDL Clubs, and all officers, directors, employees, agents, partners, and members of those entities.
