JOHNSON CITY, TN - The Cardinals hosted the Greeneville Reds on Monday night in front of a record crowd at TVA Credit Union Ballpark as 3,687 fans filed in through the gates. 3,687 fans topped the previous single-game attendance record of 3,549 that was set on July 3, 2017.

To set the single game record for the third year in a row in only our fourth game of the season is something to really be proud of. Johnson City defeated the Greeneville Reds 13-12 on a walk-off passed ball to even the series at one game apiece. Monday marks the second game that the Cardinals have won in extra innings during the 2018 season.
Greeneville scored runs in the first four innings, while Johnson City scored in the third, fourth and fifth innings. Heading to the sixth inning, Greeneville led 12-8.
Johnson City used five pitchers throughout the contest. De Jesus got the start but only went three innings. His line was 3.0 innings pitched, five hits, eight runs (seven earned), four walks and one strikeout.
The Cardinals final line was 13 runs on 14 hits with two errors, while Greeneville had 12 runs on nine hits with one error. The losing pitcher for Greeneville was Jerry D'Andrea and he fell to 0-2 on the season.
Johnson City improves to 6-6 on the season and also 2-2 at home. The Cardinals will take on Greeneville tomorrow in the series finale at TVA Credit Union Ballpark for a huge Independence Day Celebration with a fireworks extravaganza following the game!
