Fans can expect unique promotions and giveaways to honor the team's strong affiliation with their parent club, which began with the 1999 season. The fifth Opening Day in BB&T Ballpark history will take place on Thursday, April 12th at 7:05 p.m. against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees). Since its inception in 2014, BB&T Ballpark has welcomed over 2.5 million fans (2,613,812 over 281 regular season home dates). The ballpark's average of 9,302 fans per game is the most in all of Minor League Baseball over that four-year stretch.
The 2018 season at Charlotte's crown jewel for exciting baseball action -- BB&T Ballpark -- is highlighted by 70 home games, including a Mother's Day game on Sunday, May 13th, a Memorial Day game on Monday, May 28th, and an Independence Day matchup against the Durham, Bulls on Wednesday, July 4th. The 2018 promotional calendar will be announced at a later date.
In all, the 2018 season features a full slate of prime home dates, including 11 Fridays, 11 Saturdays, and 11 Sundays. Standard Monday-Saturday game times will be at 7:05 p.m. Sunday games in April, May, and June will begin at 2:05 p.m. with the lone exception being May 27th which will feature a 7:05 p.m. start on the night before Memorial Day. In July and August, all Sunday home games will start at 5:05. The club's annual Education Day game, presented by Duke Energy, will take place at 11:05 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2nd against the Gwinnett Braves (Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves). The Knights will host their International League South Division foes, Durham, Norfolk, and Gwinnett, a total of 11 times each in 2018.
