Sea Dogs Add Five Promotions to Schedule

Bean Boots, Irish dancers, Olympic Athlete, Green Night, and One Hit Wonders

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have announced five new promotions that will take place over the teams' final 16 games of the season. The five new promotions include a Green Night, "Biscuits for Bean Boots", Irish Night, an appearance by Maine Olympian Julia Clukey, and a One Hit Wonders Night.

The Portland Sea Dogs will "Go Green" on Friday, August 12th, presented by Hannaford Supermarkets. Hannaford Supermarkets will provide the first 1,000 fans through the gate with a reusable shopping bag. The Sea Dogs are also offering a special Buy One Get One ticket offer for all Sea Dogs fans that ride their bikes to the game. To take part in this ticket deal, fans who ride their bikes to the game should come up to the windows with their bikes to take part in the offer. Before the start of the game, all bikers are welcome to take part in a special bike parade around the warning track. The bike parade will start at 6:15pm. Throughout the game the Sea Dogs will be displaying helpful facts to make your home and lives more energy efficient and Earth friendly. Additionally, Prime Motor Group will have hybrid cars on display.

Be sure to wear your Bean Boots on Sunday, August 14th for L.L. Bean Day. The Sea Dogs will be offering "Biscuits for Boots". All fans are encouraged to wear their L.L. Bean Boots to the game, at 12:15 PM there will be a parade led by Slugger the Sea Dog and L.L. Bear for all the fans wearing their Bean Boots. At the end of the parade, each fan wearing Bean Boots will receive a voucher for a Sea Dogs Biscuit. So come out, and show your Maine pride with your Bean Boots! You could also win several other prizes, courtesy of L.L. Bean.

Friday, August 19th is Irish Night at the Sea Dogs. Boghat, the traditional Irish dance music trio of accomplished musicians, will be playing for fans as they enter the ballpark and Irish Dancers will entertain the crowd throughout the game. The First 500 fans to enter the ballpark that night will receive a plastic traditional Irish green top hat. Fans 21 and over showing valid identification will also have the pleasure of enjoying Guinness at Hadlock Field. So, whether you're Irish or not, come out and enjoy the party and be sure to wear green!

Maine Olympian Julia Clukey will be at appearing at Hadlock Field on Monday, August 22nd when the Sea Dogs take on the Harrisburg Senators at 7:00 PM, presented by the Maine Beer and Wine Distributors Associations'' responsibility initiative. Clukey will be available for autographs and will throw out a ceremonial first-pitch. The Augusta, Maine native competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics and finished 17th in Luge. She continues to climb in the World Cup rankings and plans to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics.

One-Hit Wonders Night, presented by Y100.9 FM, will take over Hadlock Field on Saturday September 3rd. All fans who present a CD, Cassette, Record or 8-track of a "One Hit Wonder" at the ticket office windows will receive a complimentary ticket to the game. A One Hit Wonder is described as "a person or act known mainly for only a single success. The term is most often used to describe music performers with only one hit single". Be sure to bring your one hit wonder to the game that night, as you will be invited to parade around the warning track to start the game. During the game, the Sea Dogs will raffle off a Team Autographed electric guitar courtesy of the Guitar Grave on Congress Street in South Portland.

Additionally, the Sea Dogs will allow all fans interested the opportunity for one hit on the field. From 4:30pm to 5:15pm fans attending the game that evening will be allowed on the field to take one swing from our pitching machine. If that one swing results in a home run, the lucky fan will win a 2012 Sea Dogs Season Ticket.

If the Portland Sea Dogs pitching staff holds the visiting team to just one hit that evening, everyone in attendance will win a Sea Dogs $1.00 gift card.
