Grand Junction announces '12 schedule

Home opener June 23 at Suplizio Field against Idaho Falls

The 2012 inaugural season schedule for the Grand Junction Rockies was officially approved during the recent Baseball Winter Meetings in Dallas, Texas.

The Grand Junction Rockies will begin their 76-game schedule on the road (June 18-22) at Ogden, Utah, for a three-game series against the Raptors (Los Angeles Dodgers affiliate) and two games at Idaho Falls against the Chukars (Kansas City Royals affiliate). As part of a five-game Rockies homestand (June 23-27), the 2012 inaugural season home opener is scheduled for June 23 at Suplizio Field against Idaho Falls. Grand Junction will close out their first-ever homestand with a three-game series against the Orem Owlz (Anaheim Angles affiliate).

The Rockies will welcome to Suplizio Field the defending Pioneer League Champion, Great Falls Voyagers (Chicago White Sox affiliate), for a four-game series (August 16-19).

Monday through Saturday home games begin at 7:05 p.m., and all Sunday games are scheduled for 2:05 p.m. The Rockies will play their first-ever "Mesa County Day" game on Wednesday, July 25, at 2:05 p.m. against the Billings Mustangs (Cincinnati Reds affiliate).

The Grand Junction Rockies are a member of the Pioneer League and a Rookie League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.
