Box score
Through 28 games in the Carolina League, Tucker is already two-thirds of the way to his home run total for 2016, when he hit nine in 117 games between Class A Quad Cities and Class A Advanced Lancaster. He opened the scoring Saturday with a one-out blast to right-center field off Cubs No. 5 prospect Oscar De La Cruz after getting ahead of the count, 2-0.

The 2015 first-round pick wasted no time in his at-bat in the ninth as he jumped on the first pitch he saw from Kyle Miller and put it in the seats in right-center.

Tucker owns a .294/.373/.608 slash line with six homers and 27 RBIs. He leads the league with 17 extra-base hits, ranks second with 62 total bases and is tied for second with 10 stolen base.

The homer was the only run allowed by De La Cruz (2-2), who gave up three hits and struck out six without issuing a walk. Cubs No. 10 prospect Eddy Martinez smacked a three-run homer and Matt Rose added a two-run shot for the Pelicans.
