Sounds extend radio deal

November 11, 2006
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Nashville Sounds have reached a three-year extension of radio broadcasting rights with WNSR 560-AM (Sports Radio 560), Nashville's first 24-hour-per-day sports talk radio station and the Middle Tennessee affiliate for Sporting News Radio.

Per the agreement, the Sounds grant radio broadcast rights for all regular season, all-star and post-season games to WNSR for the 2007, 2008 and 2009 seasons.

WNSR returned as the Sounds' radio home in 2006 after initially serving as the home of the club's broadcasts for four seasons from 1998-2001. The Sounds enter their third season as the Milwaukee Brewers' Triple-A affiliate in 2007.

In addition to local airing on Sports Radio 560, broadcasts of all Sounds games will also be available to fans via an internet webcast based at www.nashvillesounds.com.

The partnership will include the annual broadcast of the Triple-A All Star Game, which is slated for July 11 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, during the upcoming season.

Chuck Valenches returns for his 10th season as the "Voice of the Sounds" in 2007. Broadcasts of all games will begin approximately 25 minutes prior to game time.

The Sounds open the 2007 season on Thursday, April 5, at Greer Stadium, when the club heads into action in a 7 p.m. contest against the New Orleans Zephyrs. The complete 2007 game schedule will be released in early December.

Ticket packages are currently on sale. Call (615) 242-4371 or visit the Sounds' website at www.nashvillesounds.com to order or for more information.
