ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists were shut out by the Hudson Valley Renegades 3-0 on Wednesday night and suffered their sixth straight loss away from home. Nic Swanson built on his August Player of the Month Award with five brilliant innings pitched.

ASHEVILLE- The Houston Astros announced their August Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month for August and Asheville’s Kenni Gomez and Nic Swanson were the two recipients. Both Gomez and Swanson were among the best in the South Atlantic League as well as within the Astros Minor League ranks.

ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists rode their pitching duo of Nic Swanson and Alain Pena to a 6-1 victory over the Hickory Crawdads Thursday night. Swanson dealt five innings and Pena followed with four scoreless frames. The two right-handers held Hickory to a total of one run and four hits.

GREENSBORO- The Greensboro Grasshoppers have nightmares about Asheville’s right-handed pitcher Nic Swanson. The Bixby, Oklahoma native has dismantled Greensboro’s offense on multiple occasions during his Asheville Tourists career. Friday night was more of the same. Unfortunately, the Tourists offense was non-existent and Asheville suffered a 4-0 loss.

ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists dropped a tough contest to the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Saturday night by a final of 4-1. Asheville held Bowling Green’s offense to only two hits in the game; however, the Hot Rods plated a couple unearned runs and held the Tourists bats in check.

ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists secured a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the Hickory Crawdads on Sunday afternoon. Austin Deming doubled twice and John Garcia added three hits in the win. Jeremy Molero closed the game with a six-out save.

ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists and the Hickory Crawdads played a double-header Wednesday night that featured the conclusion of Tuesday’s game followed by a seven-inning contest. Hickory took the first game 3-1 in ten innings despite Asheville’s strong effort, then the Crawdads won the nightcap 8-0.

GREENSBORO- The Asheville Tourists snapped their six-game losing skid on Wednesday evening with an impressive 5-1 win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Nic Swanson matched a season-high with six innings pitched while Anthony Sherwin and Cam Fisher each belted a Home Run for the Tourists.

ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists blasted a single game season-high five Home Runs on Friday night in an 11-7 victory over the Bowling Green Hot Rods. Five different players went deep and the balanced Tourists offense finished the game with 15 hits.

ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists put on a pitching display Friday night and defeated the Greensboro Grasshoppers 3-2 in front of a McCormick Field sellout crowd. Nic Swanson threw a six-inning gem and the bullpen combination of Kelly Austin and Layne Henderson closed out the contest.

HICKORY- The Asheville Tourists dropped a close contest to the Hickory Crawdads, 5-4, on Saturday night from L.P. Frans Stadium. Austin Deming hit a three-run Home Run and Garret Guillemette added two hits; however, Hickory hung on to take a one game lead in the series.

WINSTON-SALEM- The Asheville Tourists used a four-hit night from Luis Baez and excellent pitching to defeat the Winston-Salem Dash 6-4 on Saturday night. The victory snapped a three-game skid and keeps a road series split in play.

ASHEVILLE- The Malmo Oat Milkers took the field as the Asheville Tourists alter ego on Sunday afternoon and were defeated by the Greenville Drive 9-2. The Drive used a stretch in the middle of the game where they scored eight runs in a three-inning span.

ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists fell 12-7 to the Greenville Drive on Tuesday night in Game One of their current homestand. Asheville delivered a big first inning and Ryan Johnson hit a monstrous Home Run, but the Drive did enough to counter the Tourists offense and keep Asheville from claiming a
