Homestand Preview: August 22-27

NORWICH, CT- The Connecticut Tigers continue their push towards the playoffs with a big six game homestand Friday, August 22nd through Wednesday, August 27th. The Tigers have their sights set on playoff baseball as they welcome the first place Hudson Valley Renegades (Rays affiliate) and the Lowell Spinners (Red Sox affiliate) to town for three games each.

Friday, August 22nd is Norwich Navigators Night! The Tigers take on the Hudson Valley Renegades at 7:05 pm. Celebrate the 20 Seasons of baseball at Dodd Stadium, as the Tigers take the field for one night as the Norwich Navigators! Stick around after the final out for a thrilling fireworks display presented by US Foods!

The Tigers and Renegades square off again on Saturday, August 23rd at 7:05 pm. Gates open at 6 pm and the first 1,000 fans will receive a bobblehead of 2011 CT Tigers and current Detroit Tigers shortstop Eugenio Suarez, courtesy of YP!

On Sunday, August 24th is the annual Bark in the Park! All fans are invited to bring their dog to the ballpark. The Tigers have also teamed up with the Relay for Life of Southeastern CT to present a Bark for Life event! Gametime is 4:05 pm. Following the game all kids will be allowed on the field for Kids Run The Bases presented by Ben & Jerry's and Have A Catch presented by Falvey's and ROXY FM 100.9.

The Boston Red Sox affiliate, the Lowell Spinners, arrive in town on Monday, August 25th for Kids Eat Free Night presented by US Foods and The Day. All children 12 & under will receive a voucher redeemable for a hot dog, bag of chips, bottle of water, and an apple! It's also Social Media Monday presented by XtraMart. A special discount offer will be posted on the Tigers Facebook and Twitter pages redeemable for that night's game. Gametime is 7:05 pm.

Tuesdays are Dollar Dogs presented by Kayem. All hot dogs just $1 all night! It's also Tuesday Night Senior Night presented by PierceCare. All senior citizen tickets are 50% off and come with a voucher redeemable for a free non-alcoholic beverage! The Tigers and Spinners square off at 7:05 pm.

The homestand wraps up on Wednesday, August 27th with special guest Denny McLain! McLain is a Detroit Tigers legend and the last MLB pitcher to win 30 games in one season. In 1968 McLain went 31-6 and was named American League MVP and Cy Young award winner. Denny will be on hand to meet fans, sign autographs, and throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Autographs will be strictly limited to one free autograph per person until the end of the 7th inning. Additional autographed items and memorabilia will be available for purchase on the concourse.

The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game schedule that runs from mid June through early September. 2014 individual game tickets, and team merchandise are on sale!
