Diego Cordero allowed an unearned run in the first inning and went a total of 6 1/3 innings, however, Palm Beach was only able to get seven men on bases all night in a 2-0 loss.
Florida's lone run was scored in the first inning. With the bases loaded and no one out, Coredero worked out of the jam allowing just that lone run. In his 6 1/3 innings, he allowed four hits, two walks and struck out two more.
Offensively, three hits wasn't enough for Palm Beach. Brian O'Keefe had two of those base hits including a double. With runners in scoring position, the Cardinals went 0-7.
Junior Fernandez pitched 1 2/3 perfect innings of relief, striking out three.
Florida extended its lead to 2-0 with a solo home run in the ninth.
The Cardinals will look to avoid the sweep on Sunday with first pitch set for 1 PM.
