Palm Beach late offensive surge not enough vs. Jupiter in home finale

Palm Beach had no runs and just one on base with two outs in the ninth before stringing together three hits that made the deficit just one run. The Cardinals tying run was then thrown out at second trying to stretch his single, ending the game with a 3-2 score in favor of Jupiter.
In that ninth inning, Irving Lopez was on second base and Palm Beach was down to its last out. Juan Yepez knocked an RBI double down the line in left making it a 3-1 game. Shane Billings then singled to right and was thrown out at second trying to turn the hit into a double. Before being tagged out, Yepez crossed the plate to make it a 3-2 game.
Jupiter scored one run in each of the third, fourth and eighth innings. 
Palm Beach starter Sam Tewes went three innings and allowed just one earned run while striking out two. 
Evan Guillory, who has made 10 starts this season for Palm Beach, came out of the bullpen with six strong innings, allowing just one earned run. He struck out three and did not walk a batter all afternoon. 
At the plate, Irving Lopez had a game high three hits which rose his season batting average to .333 through 99 at bats. 
Scott Hurst, José Godoy, and Juan Yepez each added two hits. 
Palm Beach and Jupiter official split the season series with 11 wins each as the Cardinals close out their home regular season schedule.
The Cardinals will travel to Dunedin and Lakeland to finish out the regular season.
Game one of the Florida State League Playoffs will be on the road vs. the second-half South Division winner while games two (on Wednesday, September 5th at 6:30 PM) and three (on Thursday, September 6th at 6:30 PM) will be back at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
