Signed with the Detroit Tigers on July 26, 2022 out of Liberty University... was previously selected in the 39th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels but did not sign and instead enrolled at the University of North Carolina... appeared in 17 games with UNC from 2020-21, going 3-4 with a 6.96 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 42 2/3 innings... received an additional redshirt from the NCAA with the 2020 season’s suspension on March 12 and cancellation due to a coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic... went 3-1 with a 5.23 ERA in 17 games at Liberty in 2022... joined the MLB Draft League in 2022 and appeared in five games for West Virginia... spent two summers with Wilmington in the Coastal Plains League in 2021 and 2022... was ranked the No. 1 RHP and No. 5 player in Wisconsin by Perfect Game and was named to its 2018 All-Region team when he attended Franklin (Wis.) High School, where he played for coach Jim Hughes and was also a two-year team captain of the basketball and football teams... was voted the 2018 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Athlete of the Year... was named to the 2016 and 2017 all-state teams for basketball and 2017 all-state first team for football... son of Becka and Ben Alba... was a member of the National Honor Society in high school and was named a WIAA Scholar Athlete... majored in exercise and sports science/sports administration at UNC but changed it to interdisciplinary studies at Liberty.
