During his high school career, Kavadas helped lead the Penn Kingsmen to a state championship as a sophomore and state runner-up as a senior... competed for the San Francisco Giants' scout team and was a member of Lids Team Indiana... the Granger, Indiana native grew up near Notre Dame's campus and was discovered in high school in 2013 while playing wiffle ball in his driveway across the street from Notre Dame's assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, Jesse Woods... made Notre Dame's baseball team as a walk-on and appeared in 47 games as a freshman, ranking third in batting and second in OBP... was one of two players to start all 54 contests in his sophomore season, a year which included first career grand slam... he led the squad with 12 home runs, the most since Trey Mancini hit 12 in 2012... earned an invite to the Cape Cod League with the Harwich Mariners, where he hit 10 homers and was named to the Cape's All-Star team.... as junior, he started all 13 games of the 2020 season before it was cut short due to the Covid-10 pandemic... was eligible but went undrafted in 2020... led Notre Dame to within one win of the College World series as a senior in 2021... added four All-American awards to his resume in 2021, including two first-team honors and first-team All-ACC awards, making him one of the first Irish players to do so since joining the conference in 2014... was named to the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Midseason watch list and became the first Irish player to earn multiple first-team All-American honors in the same season since Steve Stanley in 2002... graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Mendoza College of Business... scouted by Alonzo Wright, the Midwestern area scout for the Boston Red Sox.
