Made his Major League debut with the Giants on May 9, 2023 and homered in his second at-bat.. the 24-year-old Schmitt became the youngest Giant to homer in his Major League debut since Will Clark accomplished the feat as a 22-year-old rookie on April 8, 1986... the Giants replayed Schmitt’s blast on the scoreboard when he returned to the field to play defense in the top of the fifth, resulting in a standing ovation from the fans in attendance... began the season with Triple-A Sacramento and hit .313 with a homer and 22 RBIs in 134 at-bats across 32 games before joining San Francisco.

Began the year with High-A Eugene and hit .273 with 14 doubles, 17 homers and 59 RBI in 93 games with the Emeralds... His 17 homers were tied for third-most in the Northwest League while his slugging percentage (.272) and OPS (.837) both ranked second...
