At Houston, Pettitte missed his freshman season with injuries and did not play in 2018... he made six appearances in 2019 as a redshirt sophomore... made five appearances in 2020 before the season was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic... appeared in 13 games for Dallas Baptist in 2021, including four as a starter, when he went 1-0 with a 5.81 ERA in 26 1/3 innings, striking out 26... pitched two years at Deer Park High School, the same school his father played for, before moving to Second Baptist School for his senior year under head coach Lance Berkman, a former Major League All-Star and World Series champion who also played for the Astros and Yankees and was a teammate of his father in New York in 2010...
