John West Doxakis, born on Aug. 20, 1998 in Houston, Texas to parents Dean and Deanna Doxakis... has one younger brother, Jacob... majored in agricultural business at Texas A&M... was a second-generation Aggie with mother, father and numerous aunts and uncles attending Texas A&M... prior to college, he pitched for coach David Munoz at Lamar High School, where he was a three-time all-district pitcher, was selected All-District 20-6A First Team and All-Greater Houston as a senior, logging a 4-2 record on the mound with a 1.40 ERA, and hit .301 as a senior... pitched in 25 games for the Aggies, including seven starts, and logged a 4-3 record with a 5.44 ERA in his freshman year at Texas A&M in 2017... went 8-5 with a 2.70 ERA in 14 starts (17 outings) in 2018... started 15 games for the Aggies in 2019, his junior year, and went 7-3 with a 1.84 ERA, .207 opponent batting average and 106 strikeouts in 97 2/3 innings… was named Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance against Fordham (2/15/19)... played for the Matsu Miners of the Alaska Summer League in 2017, appearing in four games... joined the Brazos Valley Bombers of the Texas Collegiate League in the summer of 2018, where he pitched in four innings over two outings.
