Originally signed with the Seattle Mariners in June 2019 as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Nebraska... was released by Seattle in May 2020... after the 2020 Minor League season was cancelled by the Covid-19 pandemic, he returned home to Nebraska where one of his old baseball coaches set him up with a job at a local bank... resigned with the Mariners on June 28, 2021... became a free agent in November 2021 and signed with the New York Mets later that month... promoted to the Majors on Aug. 21, 2022 for his debut at Philadelphia, where he threw three scoreless innings in a 10-9 win... former coach offered him a job at First National Bank of Omaha in 2020 and Fisher took the position as a commercial lending analyst. "With COVID, there was so much uncertainty," Fisher told MLB.com. "I didn't know if the opportunity would arise again, so when it came, I just obviously ran with it."... Fisher said he worked evaluating loans at the bank from July 2020 until June 2021.
Went 7-3 with a 3.27 ERA over 15 starts in his 2019 senior season at Nebraska... majored in finance at Nebraska... appeared in 54 games for Nebraska over four seasons from 2015-19, going 9-9 with a 4.78 ERA and 129 strikeouts in 165 2/3 innings... had Tommy John surgery in the summer of 2015 and missed the entire 2016 season... before Nebraska, he attended Yutan (Neb.) High School, where he was a team captain in baseball, football and basketball and was voted student body president in 2013... was a 2014 second-team All-Nebraska selection by the Omaha World-Herald and a second-team Super-State pick by the Lincoln Journal Star... he earned first-team Class B all-state honors from both state newspapers in 2014 when he was 5-1 with a 1.67 ERA and 87 strikeouts and hit .500 with three home runs... he averaged nearly a double-double per game on the hardwood with 20.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in basketball... was a four-year member of the student council... son of Rick and Nancy Fisher... had planned to pursue a Master’s degree in business administration
