Gone Since ‘92, Welcome Back The Silver and Blue.
Honoring Our Past
Originating in 1947, The Reno Silver Sox were part of Minor League Baseball on and off through 1992. Affiliated with multiple organizations, from the Brooklyn Dodgers to the Oakland A’s, the Silver Sox always called The Biggest Little City home. Named after Nevada’s nickname of the “Silver State” this community staple played its home games three miles south of Greater Nevada Field at Moana Stadium. Featuring alumni like Roberto Alomar, Dennis Eckersley, and Bobby Cox, the Silver Sox went on to win 4 California League Titles, produce over 20 MLB All-Stars, and countless memories for baseball fans in Northern Nevada.
A New Era Of Silver Sox Baseball
Starting in 2024, the Reno Aces will take the field as The Reno Silver Sox on select dates (dates coming soon). Aiming to honor the past while ushering in a new era of Silver Sox Baseball in The Biggest Little City, we look to bring back the memories of Moana Stadium while creating new ones for baseball fans across The Biggest Little City.
