June 16, 2019: ValleyCats' Home Opener Postponed Due To Rain

TROY, NY- Due to inclement weather, the Tri-City ValleyCats' scheduled 2019 home opener against the Staten Island Yankees on Sunday, June 16 has been postponed. The 'Cats will now begin their 2019 home slate on Monday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. against the Yankees, with gates at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium opening at 5:00 p.m.
The contest will now be made up as part of a single admission doubleheader on Sunday, August 25th, with the start time to be announced. Any ticket that was purchased for the contest on June 16 may be exchanged for any upcoming home game during the 2019 season, pending availability. Ticket exchanges for games postponed due to rain may be made by visiting the ValleyCats' box office at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium or calling them at 518-629-CATS (2287). 
Monday's contest between the two New York-based teams will now serve as the 2o19 home opener, with the ValleyCats' 2018 New York-Penn League celebration taking place prior to first pitch. In honor of the 'Cats' third title, the first 1,500 fans to the game will recieve a replica of the team's 2018 New York-Penn League championship ring. Additionally, the field will be available at 6:00 p.m. for a pregame catch and postgame fireworks will take place following the conclusion of the game.
