BUFFALO, NY – The Iowa Cubs (15-12) suffered a 2-0 defeat against the Buffalo Bisons (16-10) on Sunday afternoon as the game was called in the bottom of the fifth inning due to rain.

The I-Cubs and Bisons went scoreless through the first three frames of the contest as they battled rainy conditions. But Buffalo was able to plate a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Steward Berroa knocked in the first run for the Bisons on a single to right field. After a pitching change, Spencer Horwitz grounded into a double play but was able to bring home a run.

As the rain continued to come down, the game was officially called with one out in the bottom of the fifth and a 1-0 count on Rafael Lantigua.

POSTGAME NOTES:
Dan Straily made his season debut for the I-Cubs today and got the starting nod. He ended with a final line of 3.0 innings, four hits, two runs (one earned), five walks, and four strikeouts.
Miles Mastrobuoni, Owen Caissie, and David Peralta each recorded hits for Iowa.
