Clippers Blanked in Syracuse

The Columbus Clippers were blanked 4-0 on Wednesday by the Syracuse Mets at NBT Bank Stadium. Four Mets pitchers combined to hold Columbus to just one hit. Johnathan Rodriguez singled in the 2nd inning. His .303 average leads the Clippers so far this season. Starter Will Dion fell to 0-2

The Columbus Clippers were blanked 4-0 on Wednesday by the Syracuse Mets at NBT Bank Stadium. Four Mets pitchers combined to hold Columbus to just one hit.

Johnathan Rodriguez singled in the 2nd inning. His .303 average leads the Clippers so far this season.

Starter Will Dion fell to 0-2 on the year, as the Mets banged out seven hits and four runs against him in the first three innings. Wes Parsons, Anthony Banda, and Franco Aleman combined to allow just one hit to Syracuse over 5.0 frames of relief work. Columbus pitchers struck out eleven batters, led by Parsons with six punchouts.

The series between the Clippers and Mets in Syracuse continues Thursday with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35pm. Columbus returns home on April 30 when the Toledo Mud Hens come to town for Tanksy Tuesday Dime-A-Dog Night. Tickets are available at ClippersBaseball.com.
