LANSING, Mich. – Bryce Hubbart struck out Colby Halter, Brayan Buelvas and Henry Bolte as the potential game-tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning, sealing the Dayton Dragons’ (7-9) 6-3 victory over the Lansing Locos (7-9) on Tuesday night at at Jackson® Field™.

Jay Allen II, Logan Tanner and Hector Rodriguez each homered for Dayton, which ended a four-game losing streak.

Rodriguez’s second homer of the year came in the top of the ninth off reliever Hunter Breault to give Dayton a 6-3 lead with a heavy storm rapidly approaching.

Danny Bautista, Jr. drew a walk from Hubbart to open the bottom of the ninth, CJ Rodriguez followed with a single, and Dereck Salom drilled a double to right-center, plating Bautista, Jr., and bringing up the top of the order.

Hubbart fanned Halter swinging for the first out of the frame, then fell behind Buelvas 3-and-0. A 3-2 pitch, however, was called strike three by home plate umpire Shin Koishizawa to Buelvas’ disapproval. The southpaw followed with a whiff of Bolte, securing the win.

Lansing starter Mitch Myers gave up three runs, one earned, on three hits and a walk in 4 1/3 innings while striking out four. Dylan Hall handled the final two outs of the fifth inning.

James González tossed the next 2 1/3 innings, notching five strikeouts while allowing two runs on four and a walk, before yielding to Breault for the final five outs.

In the loss, CJ Rodriguez went 3-for-4, Bautista, Jr. finished 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI single and a triple, and Halter drew three walks.
