Reno, Nev. – After dropping the road series to the Las Vegas Aviators, the Reno Aces (15-18) will return to Greater Nevada Field to take on the Tacoma Rainiers (19-14), the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, beginning on Tuesday, May 7th.

Tacoma controlled the series against Reno in their first meeting this season, taking five out of six games. The Rainiers outscored the Aces by a significant margin, tallying 46 runs compared to the Aces' 25. Despite the offensive struggles, Adrian Del Castillo stood out with a solid performance, going 5-for-16 (.313) with two doubles, a home run, and five RBIs. Tacoma heads to Reno following a series loss to the Sacramento River Cats.

Starting pitcher Jhonathan Diaz and outfielder Cade Marlowe have been standout players for Tacoma this season.

Diaz has been dominant to the start of the season. The left-hander leads the Pacific Coast League in both wins (5) and strikeouts (42), and he's tied for first in innings pitched (38.0). The Rainiers' ace also boasts an impressive 2.37 ERA, ranking him third in the PCL. In his most recent outing, Diaz held Sacramento to just one run on four hits and four walks across five innings while striking out six. The 27-year-old is scheduled to retake the mound on Friday, May 10th.

Marlowe, a left-handed swinging outfielder, has been a problem on the bases this season. The Georgia native currently leads the PCL in stolen bases with 18, putting him well on track to surpass his career high of 29 in 2023. He has posted a slash line of .254/.359/.407 with eight extra-base hits and 17 runs batted in. As the speedster heads into the series against Reno, he's poised to wreak havoc on the bases again.

Reno heads into the series against Tacoma after losing their series against the Las Vegas Aviators, the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, dropping four out of seven games. Brett Johnson played a pivotal role in Reno's offense against Las Vegas. The left-handed hitter went 4-for-13 (.307) with two doubles, a triple, and a home run, tallying seven RBIs. Notably, he turned the tide for Reno on Friday with a clutch three-run home run that tied the game in the eighth inning. Johnson will be aiming to carry his momentum into the upcoming series against Tacoma as Reno looks to bounce back at home.

The six-game series begins Tuesday, May 7th, at 11:05 a.m. PT at Greater Nevada Field.
