Major League Baseball has approved the Albuquerque Isotopes’ request to extend the timeframe in between games of tonight’s doubleheader, thereby allowing the Little League Banner Parade to take place immediately following Game 1 of the twin-bill.

Normally only 30 minutes are allotted in between games of doubleheaders, however due to tonight’s extenuating circumstances, MLB has authorized a 45-minute break in order to permit the parade to take place. One important item to note is that there is rain in this evening’s forecast. Therefore the parade will only be held if the weather and field conditions permit. The Isotopes will do everything we can to make it happen!

“We are so grateful to MLB for allowing us to get the parade in,” said Isotopes General Manager John Traub. “We were just as disappointed as the kids were by initially having to cancel the parade. We know how much time and effort goes into making these banners, and the kids are always so excited to walk in the parade. We’ve been trying so hard to find a way to make it happen, and we’re appreciative that MLB is understanding of this scenario.”

The Leagues will be contacted directly to inform them of the instructions pertaining to the parade.

Additionally, the post-game fireworks show is still scheduled to take place (also weather permitting of course) as is the “Women in Sports” Celebration.

We appreciate the patience and understanding shown by the League Presidents, coaches, players and parents as we’ve navigated through this to provide the best possible outcome for everyone involved.

See you tonight!
