The visiting Peoria Chiefs put up a four-spot in the third inning and went on to defeat the Sky Carp 5-0 for their third straight win in the series. It was the second straight evening the Chiefs won 5-0.
The terrific crowd of 2,071 enjoyed a beautiful evening at the ballpark and many went home with a cooler courtesy of G5 Brewing.
The Sky Carp was held to just two hits on the evening, with Josh Zamora and Jesus Sanoja each recording a single.
Cade Gibson took the loss for the Sky Carp, but pitched well. Gibson allowed three earned runs in six innings, striking out six without walking a batter. Neither Edgar Sanchez (one inning) or Yeuris Jimenez (two innings) allowed an earned run out of the bullpen.
The Sky Carp and Chiefs will continue their six-game series Saturday night at 6:05. There will be a fantastic fireworks show following the game.
