Baysox Invited To Remain Orioles Affiliate
The Bowie Baysox, today, received an invitation to remain as the Class AA Minor League Baseball Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, beginning with the upcoming 2021 season. This is step one in the process to continue hosting affiliated minor league baseball at Prince George’s Stadium for many years to come.

“We are proud of our long-standing commitment to the Baltimore Orioles and our partnership with the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission. We are awaiting the license agreement from Major League Baseball which will determine our path forward” said Brian Shallcross, Baysox General Manager.
The Bowie Baysox have been the Class AA Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles for the entirety of the team’s run in Bowie, MD. The Baysox began play in Bowie beginning with the 1993 season after moving from Hagerstown, MD. Throughout that time, over 180 former Baysox players have gone on to play in the Major Leagues, with many of them playing for the Orioles. The Baysox also captured their first Eastern League Championship in team history during the 2015 season. Twenty-two players that played for the Baysox during the 2015 season went on to play in the majors including Trey Mancini, Mike Yastrzemski, Chance Sisco, Mychal Givens and Dylan Bundy.
