ZEBULON, N.C. -
The 1-0 blanking of the visiting Pelicans (13-21, 47-57) was Carolina's ninth shutout of the season, but their first since May 31 in Lynchburg when the Mudcats (19-14, 53-50) defeated the Hillcats 9-0. Thursday's home win also clinched a series victory as Carolina won two of the three in the four game series.
Wilson went 2-for-2 with the only run of the game as he homered to start the Carolina half of the second. His home run came against Myrtle Beach starter Manny Rondon and was his team best 13th of the year. It also brought his overall season RBI total to a team best 58 on the year.
Roegner (9-5, 2.16) started and earned the win after totaling three strikeouts and after allowing five hits over five scoreless frames. His victorious scoreless effort dropped his season long earned run average to just 2.16. Thus, moving him ahead of teammate

Brown (H, 4) entered the game with two outs in the eighth and went on to retire his only batter faced as he got the left-handed hitting
Barker (S, 16) came on for the ninth and earned his Carolina League leading 16th save of the season. He also struck out one and finished the game with a groundout to third over his scoreless frame.
Rondon (0-1, 1.65) suffered the loss for the Pelicans after allowing just the one run on two hits over four innings pitched. Relievers
Thursday's series finale also happened to be the overall season series finale between the two teams. Carolina improved to 12-9 versus the Pelicans this season with Thursday's home win.
The Mudcats next play on Friday night in Potomac as they begin a new three game road series versus the Potomac Nationals. The game will air on the Mudcats Radio Network, the Big Dawg 98.5 FM and via TuneIn Radio at carolinamudcats.com.
