Wilson Drives In Three as Mudcats Win Fourth Straight

Wilson paced the Carolina (9-5, 43-41) offense as he totaled three hits, including a two-run and two-out triple in the fourth and a run scoring single in the sixth. Carolina had a 6-0 lead through the sixth after totaling six runs and eight hits against Humpal (2-8, 4.62) over the first half of the game. Humpal took the loss and finished with a walk and a strikeout.
Roegner (8-4, 2.10), meanwhile, scattered just two hits while pitching through the sixth without allowing a run. He at one point retired 11 straight between the second and sixth innings, but would end up allowing two runs and two hits in the seventh before leaving the game. In all, Roegner allowed two runs on four hits, struck out four and walked three while earning the victory.
The two run Frederick seventh cut Carolina's lead to 6-2, but a two-run home run from Rodriguez in the eighth would put Carolina up 8-2. The home run was Rodriguez's first of the season and came off reliever
Rodriguez went 1-for-4 in the game for the Mudcats and drove in two runs. Hummel also had two RBI and went 1-for-3 with a run scoring double.

The home win ran Carolina's current winning streak to four straight games. The loss, meanwhile, extended Frederick's current losing streak to eight straight games. The game started late and featured a one hour and 32 minute delay due to rain before the game.
