2018 Promotional Calendar Revealed

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Unique giveaways, iconic celebrities, memorable tribute nights, and the introduction of #TBTees highlight the Charlotte Knights promotional schedule for the 2018 season at BB&T Ballpark -- the team's 20^th overall season as the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Single-game tickets for the 2018 season at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte will go on sale to the general public in person at the BB&T Ballpark Ticket Office beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 17^th. Two hours later (12:00 p.m. noon), single-game tickets will go on sale online at CharlotteKnights.com and by phone (704-274-8282).

The Knights are set to embark on their fifth season at BB&T Ballpark with their home opener scheduled for 7:04 p.m. on Thursday, April 12^th against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (New York Yankees). Opening Weekend is highlighted by a 2018 Magnet Schedule giveaway (Thursday, April 12^th to Sunday, April 15^th , the first of 11 Friday Night Fireworks shows (Friday, April 13^th), LEGO Weekend (Friday, April 13^th to Sunday, April 15^th), and Homer The Dragon's Birthday Celebration, which kicks-of his 30^th season as the team's legendary mascot (Sunday, April 15^th).

Since 1999, the Charlotte Knights have been the top affiliate of the Chicago White Sox and the team will honor their 20-year affiliation with their parent club throughout the year. On six occasions in 2018, the Knights will wear White Sox-inspired jerseys on select White Sox Wednesdays (May 23^rd, June 20^th, July 18^th, and August 15^th) and Sox Saturdays (April 14^th and August 25^th). The Knights will also give away unique items to highlight notable players from their 2017 team, including a Lucas Giolito No-Hitter Bobblehead on Tuesday, May 22^nd, a Yoán Moncada Yo-Yo on June 6^th (National Yo-Yo Day), and a Michael Kopech "DisKopech T-Shirt" on Thursday, June 21^st for "That 70's Knight". Each of these collectible giveaways will be handed out to the first 2,000 fans at the gates. Additional must-have giveaways this season include "Graphic Sox Socks" on Wednesday, July 18^th, and a 20^th Season Replica Youth Jersey to the first 1,500 kids on Tuesday, July 31^st presented by Atrium Health.

New for 2018, fans can expect an enhancement to Thursdays at BB&T Ballpark. On five Thursday nights this season, the first 2,000 fans at the gates will receive a T-Shirt as part of the team's #TBTees promotion. Themes for #TBTees are Video Game Knight (May 24^th), That 70's Knight (June 21^st), The Office Knight (July 19^th), Fan's Choice (July 5^th), and The Sandlot Knight (August 2^nd).

Back by popular demand, Thursday games at BB&T Ballpark, including Opening Knight, will once again feature $3 domestic drafts, $5 craft drafts, and $1 small sodas for Thirsty Thursday ™. Fans can also expect familiar Knightly Promotions to return in 2018, including Friday Night Fireworks presented by BB&T and News Talk 1110 WBT, and Sunbelt Sundays presented by Sunbelt Rentals with post-game Kids Run the Bases presented by Killingsworth Environmental. The Knights will light-up-the-sky with post-game fireworks on 13 occasions this season.

Additionally, All-American Mondays at the ballpark will return for all eight Monday home games this season. Fans can chow down on delicious $1 Hot Dogs presented by Sahlen's at four Monday games (April 30^th, May 28^th, July 30^th, and August 13^th), and bring their four-legged friends to Bark in the Ballpark on four occasions (April 16^th, May 21^st, July 16^th, and August 27^th). The Knights will also honor the Military and wear Patriotic-themed jerseys at three Military Monday games (May 29^th, July 3^rd, and August 13^th) presented by Tito's Vodka.

Already announced on Wednesday, the 2018 Harris Teeter and Old Spice Celeb Series will feature a two-time World Series champion, a WWE Hall-of-Famer, and three notable celebrities from film and television. The series begins on Monday, April 30^th when the team will welcome three-time Major League Baseball All-Star David Justice to the ballpark. In June, fans can expect to meet WWE Hall-of-Famer, " The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase on Tuesday, June 5^th. Two weeks later, Don Stark, who played Bob Pinciotti on "That 70's Show", will meet and greet fans on Thursday, June 21^st. One month later, actor Andy Buckley, who played David Wallace on the television series, "The Office", will meet and greet fans on Thursday, July 19^th for the team's "Office Knight". Finally, on Thursday, August 2^nd, the Knights will host a 25^th Anniversary Tribute to the movie "The Sandlot" and welcome actor Patrick Renna to the ballpark to meet and greet fans. Renna played the iconic character, "Ham Porter".

Additional appearances will occur at the ballpark on Negro League Night (Tuesday, April 17^th), Women in Sports Night (Wednesday, April 18^th), Princess Day (Sunday, June 10^th), Super Hero Day (Sunday, July 1^st), Women in Baseball Night (August 5^th), and Crockett Foundation Night (Sunday, August 26^th). Fans can also expect additional dates to be announced, which will include a 25^th Anniversary Tribute to the 1993 Charlotte Knights, and the annual Charlotte Baseball Round Table of Honor Night.
