Knights Win Six Games on Road Trip

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- The first place Charlotte Knights (12-6) return home to BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte on Tuesday, April 23rd to open a nine-game homestand from BB&T Ballpark after an 11-game road trip. The Knights, who went 6-1 at home to begin the 2019 season, had success on their first road trip of the season, which was their longest scheduled trip of the year. The Knights posted a 6-5 record on the road trip.
The first road trip of the season kicked-off on Thursday, April 11th as the Knights made the trek to Indianapolis, IN for a four-game series against the Indianapolis Indians. Fresh off winning six of their seven games at home, the Knights turned to LHP
The road trip shifted to Lawrenceville, GA on Monday, April 15th as the Knights and Gwinnett Stripers opened a four-game series from Coolray Field. Despite dropping the opener of the series, 9-8, the Knights battled back to win the final three games of the series -- scoring 17 runs over the three-game stretch.
On Friday, April 19th, the Knights and Tides suffered their second postponed game of the season (first in Norfolk, VA) due to rain. With a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday, April 20th, the Knights continued to shine winning the first of two games by a score of 6-5 for their fourth-consecutive victory. Although they dropped game two of the twin bill by a score of 5-2, the Knights wrapped up the road trip with a commanding 14-3 win on Sunday, April 21st.
Overall on the road trip, the Knights managed 90 hits, scored 62 runs, and slugged 12 home runs. Shortstop
