Erie’s (12-10) rode a seven-RBI performance from Stephen Scott to break a three-game losing streak in an 11-3 win over Bowie (13-11).

The SeaWolves broke onto the scoreboard first in the second inning. Chris Meyers and Trei Cruz blasted consecutive solo homers off Bowie starter Trace Bright to give Erie a 2-0 lead.

In the fourth, Scott made it 4-0 when he drove in a pair on a triple.

Bowie climbed back in the bottom of the fourth against Erie starter Wilkel Hernandez. TT Bowens crushed a two-run homer to cut the lead to 4-2.

In the fifth inning with two out, Jud Fabian singled home Samuel Basallo to make it 4-3. The single knocked out Hernandez, who allowed three runs on five hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. Hernandez struck out four batters.

The SeaWolves began to grow their lead in the sixth. With the bases loaded, Scott doubled home a pair to make it 6-3.

In the seventh, TJ Hopkins led off for Erie with a double. Brady Allen later doubled him home to make it 7-3. Cruz drove home Allen on a single to make it 8-3. Cruz had his second consecutive multi-hit game. Later in the frame with two on, Scott blasted a three-run home run to give Erie an 11-3 lead and give himself seven runs driven in.

The seven driven in was one shy of Scott’s career high. He fell a single shy of the cycle.

Adam Wolf, Calvin Coker, and PJ Poulin combined for 4.1 innings of scoreless relief for Erie. Wolf (1-0) earned the win. Bright (0-3) took the loss.

Austin Bergner starts for Erie on Friday as the SeaWolves look to even up the series. Brandon Young pitches for Bowie at 7:05 p.m.
